Minimalistic bike brake lever

We accept no liability whatsoever for the consequences of using this thing. Use at your own risk and be cautious! This experiment started with a bike without brakes. It looked sleek but was utterly foolish to ride in traffic. We wanted to see if we could create a simple and discreet front brake lever, since most of the ones we've seen are very ugly. This is a simplification, as it's the smallest amount of volume and visual impact that still works (but no guarantee on this). Safety and self-preservation are not included. This design will only work with centre-pull caliper brakes or similar setups. Print one clip and one lever, then attach them using an M4 bolt and locknut. 2017-01-25 Proof of concept achieved. First test period complete. Essential hardware includes a 35mm long M4 bolt and a locknut. A lower profile clip is being designed. 2017-10-09 The test lever broke this morning! It had been outside for several weeks, and the cold weather was especially harsh. A new lever will be printed, possibly in PET or ABS. Alternatively, it might just have 100% infill. If you decide to try this, we'd greatly appreciate any feedback you can provide. Print Settings Printer Brand: Wanhao Printer Model: Wanhao Duplicator i3 V2 Rafts: Not necessary Supports: Unnecessary Resolution: 0.2 Infill: 100% Notes: We printed it with 23% infill using black PLA and tested it for almost a year without issue. However, we strongly advise printing it with 100% infill and keeping it away from heat, sun, chemicals, rain, cats, and heavy machinery if you still want to use it.
