The VL53LOX is a compact breakout board for the GY-530 laser ranging sensor (time-of-flight) chip that packs a big punch. Using the VL53LOX in tandem with an Arduino, a sg90 servo, and an OLED display allows you to create a minimalist lidar sensor with one degree of freedom. The support of the VL53LOX consists of three parts, which are securely attached using screws (nuts being optional). Arduino code is available at https://github.com/ptavaressilva/Minimalist-LiDAR for those looking to get started quickly. A step-by-step guide on how to use the VL53LOX is also available at https://releasetheinnergeek.wordpress.com.
