Minimalist Lack Cabinet

Minimalist Lack Cabinet

thingiverse

This is a minimalist design with as few parts and even fewer screws/fixings visible. The acrylic sheets are from four IKEA 40cm*50cm picture frames to reduce the cost hugely and slip into the reliefs in the legs and top brackets so no gluing required and most importantly the only cut is to slice one in half with a Stanley knife to make the two doors. Four wood screws are needed to attach the leg extensions to the legs (one per leg) and 4 M5*25mm screws to hold the door hinges together. The filament guide is a standalone piece which accepts the metal filament reel holder and has a guide which runs through the top of Lack. You'll need a 22mm spade bit (or a Stanley knife and patience) to cut the holes. Epoxy glue recommended to fix this onto the table and superglue for the top brackets and hinges. Mine is in black filament so it's visible in the pictures but if you print it to match the Lack it'll be virtually invisible. The sheets are thin (0.7mm) so a bit more flexible than 3mm acrylic sheet so you could switch out the thin acrylic for thicker material on the doors or use the door edgings to stiffen them up.
