This shape is an example of a minimal surface created by a unique geometry. I produced the STL file from a custom Grasshopper script that I found on the Grasshopper forum. You can find more information about my use of Grasshopper for design on this blog page: http://birkbinnard.com/blog/parametric-modeling/. This model took approximately seven hours and fifty-two minutes to print, using a print speed of eighty millimeters per second and a layer height of point two millimeters.
