Minimal Oculus Quest - Rift S Controller Wall Mount
thingiverse
I was inspired by lensfort’s Oculus Rift S or Quest Controller Wall Mounts, specifically how he utilized gravity to secure the controllers. Check out his design on Thingiverse: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3678073. As a minimalist, I wanted to capture the essence of this mounting mechanism without the excess filament use and supports required for its original version. So, here's my take on it. This design is compact, requiring minimal material, and can be printed quickly regardless of print bed size. Accessing your controllers is fast: simply raise them up from underneath until they touch the hook, then let them rest against the wall. To remove them, just lift up on the handle. The design is inherently stable and secure due to its two points of contact with the controller (the hook and the wall), plus the added stability provided by gravity pulling on the controller handle. This mount works seamlessly with modified controllers that have additional grips, as it only has one point of contact with the controller. You can attach it to the wall using double stick tape, a screw, or a small finishing nail. I opted for a large head sewing straight pin to minimize damage to drywall. UPDATE: While a single hole would likely be stable with a screw, it's a bit wobbly when using a straight pin. To address this, I've added two-hole and no-hole versions for those who prefer to use double sticky tape. UPDATE: Rounded corners have been incorporated (no functional difference, but it looks a little nicer).
