Minimal Earphone Cable ClipSmall earphone cable clip which snags on the collar of the jacket to prevent the chord from pulling while running or doing other sport activities.Keeps the cable running upright, which is especially useful when routing inside the jacket. The cable clip has three holes for different cable thickness and/or different grip strength.I found most of my earphones to fit the middle hole (~1.5mm), which prevents sliding completely. The smallest hole will grab a single earbud cable. The mouth of the clip grabs securely normal/medium-thickness fabric, from the collar of a t-shirt to a sports winter jacket (as pictured). The opening for the cable is intentionally very small (to avoid loosing thin cables). Insert the side of a knife to lift it open while inserting the cable.PrintingPrint at 0.2mm layer height or lower using a 0.4 nozzle. No supports required.I really recommend to use PETG for this clip. You need strong inter-layer adhesion for the little mouth of the cable clip.PLA will work if you're careful, but it will loose its pliability very quickly if you plan to move the clip from jacket to jacket.AlternativesI tried several clips before designing a new one. Here's what I liked:Ear Bud Running Clip by Cleven. What I like: using the Y split as a stop. Unfortunately some cables I have are too short if you put the clip on the side of the collar (I found the middle position to be annoying). What didn't work as expected: the clip itself is not too secure on thin fabric. It's also a little bigger than what I'd wanted.Headphone/Earphone Clip by Nick C.What I like: the clip itself works much better, it's designed to be printed without supports, and it also grabs thin wires without a problem. What I didn't like: it's big.Earphone Cable Clip by muzz64.What I like: everything =)I use one of those clips to prevent the cable to be munched by the zip of the jacket. However it doesn't actually hold the cable, it's just a pass-through.
