They walked through the door, and immediately felt a chill run down their spines. The air inside was thick with an unsettling energy that seemed to cling to them like a damp shroud. It started with small things - a creaking floorboard, a faint whisper in the hallway, a sense of being watched from just out of sight. At first, they tried to brush it off as mere paranoia, but as the occurrences piled up, they couldn't shake the feeling that something was very wrong.
