I've designed two custom line sensor boards for this robot project - a 3-sensor and a 5-sensor board. You can check them out at http://www.r2pv1.com/. I've also created a RoboGuts circuit board and paired it with a PIXY CMUcam5 and a variety of sensors to build a high-tech bot that excels in Collision Avoidance, TableTop-1 challenges, and Follow Lines robot gaming functions. My sensor lineup includes the SHARP GP2D12, Sharp GP2Y0D805Z0F, QTR-LRC-1A Reflectance Sensor, and UltraSonic options like Parallax PING or HC-SR04. These are just a few of the popular UltraSonics on the market. All my designs will be available for free download once I'm fully funded for my RoboGuts S.T.E.A.M.
