Miniature vice protector caps
prusaprinters

Since I published this miniature vice with the optional table clamp, it has become very popular. And I have started to use it myself for numerous hobby activities.

If you don't have it yet, feel free to get the latest version here:
https://www.prusaprinters.org/prints/53471

Now this post is a little add on, to protect the vice against damage.

Print instructions

I strongly recommend to print these parts from PETG or some other slightly flexible material. As I have found that depending on the used printer, the used material of the vice and the used print orientation of the vice parts, the protectors do fit better or worse, I have made three versions with slightly different dimensions on the inside.

I propose you try the part that is marked "nominal fit" first. If that should not stick tight enough, try the "extra tight" parts. The loose fit should actually not be necessary, it is mostly for those of you, that want the protectors just laid on.

The parts need to be printed with 100% infill due to the forces they have to withstand. But being so tiny, they do neither consume much material nor much printing time anyway.

License:

The license does not allow derivatives, as one of my designs in the past was “taken” from me in the past to collect donations on Thingiverse via a “Remix”, that did not add any significant value. That made me really sad. If you want to seriously remix this design, please contact me and I will be glad approve that.
