Miniature Pedestal Sink
thingiverse
I have been observing a growing community of individuals who passionately collect miniatures, and I feel a strong desire to contribute back to the group that has consistently provided me with inspiration and generously shared their own models. As I wait for my model to render, I believe there are several more items I need to give a thumbs up to. In an effort to assist someone with potty training, I downloaded and printed a miniature toilet with a functional lid from this website for the stuffed animals to use when necessary. However, this young individual apparently learned that it is essential to wash one's hands after using the restroom. What ensued was my inbox receiving a request for a sink. Following my initial sink model, there was an apologetic message asking if I also had a towel rack available. Initially, I was not satisfied with my first sink design. It featured sharp corners, a drain that wasn't deep enough, and lacked any form of soap dispenser, which led me to predict the next requests. Instead of designing a new towel rack, I decided to add a swinging towel ring to the side of the sink. By incorporating a small piece of felt into the ring and attaching it to the bowl, I managed to appease the youngster... for now. I am pleased to share my mini sink design with you. The original model that inspired me had wide-set handles for the water. If anyone has strong feelings about this, I would be more than happy to create a version with rounded or crowned handles. As an avid fan of snap-fit models, I apologize if the connections become too snug at times. To mitigate this issue, I often apply a 0.1-0.2mm chamfer to the connecting points that print on glass. My STL files tend to be slightly larger than usual, and for that, I offer my sincerest apologies. However, until someone expresses concern, I prefer to provide the higher-quality original model rather than a lower-quality version that can fit on a floppy drive. Due to an issue with the site rendering high-resolution models, I am attaching an STL file created at slightly better than "Fine" resolution.
