Miniature Painting Fat Grip holder
thingiverse
This miniature painting grip setup requires no additional gluing, drilling, rubber bands, metal springs, magnets or any other extraneous materials. Simply tape or temporarily glue your miniature to the top model and either screw it into the far grip or attach the handle to the small hole made for it. You may need to decide whether to glue the handle to the top, as I haven't included a mechanism to hold it in place; however, most prints come out very tight and will hold themselves. The choice is yours. The models do not require rafts (unless you experience issues with sticking) or any type of supports. The infill amount was selected to accommodate strong grips that can withstand pressure without breaking, but this is a personal preference - feel free to adjust as needed. This grip has been modified from https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2805001 and the screw pattern from https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3097482 to allow for the use of flat tops for holding miniatures during painting. I also incorporated handle bars from https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2992815, making a slight alteration to the flat top that holds the miniature so you can add the modified handle and use it in this way. Future updates will include a larger top for larger miniatures as well as other versions of the handle, which are designed to be comfortable to hold and move with the miniature while painting. A coke cap top has been added to the files.
