It was printed smaller to speed up the printing time, which was a fun idea. The result is functional and enjoyable, but it's not very practical. If you decide to print one for yourself, keep in mind that the fan requires printing with support, while the rest of the parts do not. When printing at full size, you'll need 3/16in rod for axles or an equivalent-sized bolt. Some glue will also be necessary to hold the fan cover in place. Printing at 50% smaller presented a challenge when searching for suitable bolts at my local hardware store. None were found that met both length and size requirements. In this case, I used brass nails that I had on hand, securing them with glue. This makeshift solution worked perfectly fine.
