Miniature holder for 25mm, 32mm, 40mm, base figures
thingiverse
I crafted this miniature holder to assist me with painting 40k figures. Some parts of certain miniatures necessitate handling in awkward positions (upside down, etc.). There are various effective painting aids available here, but I chose to create one that can easily accommodate anything with a base from 25 to 40 mm and be easy to hold. Although it may seem overly complicated for a painting aid, it works well for my needs. This holder can also be used for display purposes. ABS parts (or pla) are required along with 3x 2.5mm electric cable termination jacks (as cam followers), 1x small rubber band, and optional 3x M3x5mm sunken head screws, as well as optional grease (appropriate to the filament used like PTFE Grease). * The pitch on the cam shafts is non-linear to allow greater force and control at the ends of travel. * Clockwise rotation for the cam disk/axel opens the sliders. Although it may feel counterintuitive, this design prevents unscrewing the base/handle while opening the sliders. * Do not use for spray paint under any circumstances. The Emperor protects!
