Miniature Compound Bow Arrows and Arrow Heads

Update 1-3-2019 I've added lighter weight arrowheads for those who still want to use Skeurs due to their ease of use compared to plastic arrows. If you prefer to stick with Skeurs, I've created a new arrowhead that fits snugly on the tip and requires just a small amount of glue to secure it in place. 12-28-2018 Skeurs are notorious for being straight, but when it comes to showcasing a bow like DonStick3's, accuracy is key. I'll be coming up with various designs to cater to different preferences. In the meantime, keep an eye out for updates on bigger arrowheads compatible with current shafts. PRINTING NOTE I encountered issues with arrows raising from the bed during printing. To resolve this, use RAFTS and you should encounter no problems. I've also enabled support, which will result in a small piece of material where the threading area is located. To give your arrows some weight and durability, try printing them with solid infill. This setting provides a more substantial arrow that's less prone to breaking during threading. You can experiment with different settings to find the perfect balance for your needs. Carbon Fibre PLA or PETG might be worth exploring as alternative materials for arrows, but I haven't had a chance to test them yet. For now, I'm sticking to printing arrows for fun targets like paper grizzlys. I created arrows that closely match Skeurs in size, with an approximate length of 286mm and 15mm arrowheads. To add some weight and stability, I hollowed out the shafts so you can thread your own material inside. The threading only goes 7mm deep, so be gentle when creating it. The arrowheads feature a threaded barrel that's also 7mm in diameter. You'll need to thread this as well. For best results, use a metric Tap & Die set and thread at 3mm, just like an M3 bolt. When threading the arrow itself, be patient and apply gentle pressure, as you only have about 1mm of diameter to work with. I've shot several arrows made from these files and they're holding up perfectly. DO NOT over-tighten the arrowhead when attaching it to the arrow shaft, or it will crack easily. Simply thread the arrowhead onto the shaft and secure it by hand without applying too much pressure.
