George M. Beylerian's Chairmania collection features a group of miniature chairs that he carefully collected and curated himself. He chose to donate his unique collection to the Grand Rapids Public Museum because of its esteemed reputation as the "Furniture City", bolstered by impressive collections of furniture and miniatures, as well as its strong working relationship with Kendall College of Art and Design. Additionally, influential recommendations from John Berry of Design West Michigan and Oliver Evans of Kendall also played a significant role in Beylerian's decision.
