Mini X Quadcopter
thingiverse
I finally managed to update this thing on Thingiverse. I've made a bunch of changes, but the main ones are: I've completely reworked the scad code for the body, making it much easier to make modifications. I reinforced the arm holding brackets to prevent them from breaking. I got rid of the antennas. Instead, thread the antenna wires through the holes in the top of the body. I added arms that tilt at a 15-degree angle to move the motors out of your line of sight while flying FPV. I added holes for screwing the naze32 flight controller directly onto the frame instead of using double-sided sticky foam. I made various other changes. A RC quadcopter frame designed for use with 2300kv motors and a naze32 flight controller, perfect for line-of-sight flying in your back yard or FPV if you attach the camera and battery to it. The design works even better if you make use of the angled arms I added. I designed the frame so that replacing the arms is easy; just unscrew four screws, remove the old arm and slide a new one in. A build log can be found here http://imgur.com/a/DRlkk, and the openSCAD code for the models can be found on GitHub https://github.com/TheZoq2/Mini-X-Quad. Edit: I'm amazed – over 100 downloads in less than two weeks! Thank you so much for that! If you end up building one of your own, I'd love to see it! Instructions The design is incredibly straightforward. Print out four arms, a top body and a bottom body. You can also print landing gears and an antenna for the receiver if you want. Attach the motors and ESCs to the arms. Use sticky foam tape to attach the flight controller and receiver to the body. Plug everything in and configure your flight controller. Slide the arms into the slots on the bottom part of the body, put the top one on and use four m4 screws to secure the body together. Use a velcro strap to keep the battery in place on top of the quad.
