I kicked off with a compact 75 x 75 mm canvas in the Sculpt environment within Autodesk Fusion 360 and skillfully shaped the surfaces to craft these miniature realms. Injecting structures brings it into perspective and lets your imagination soar as you picture exploring the edifices or traversing the river. The boats are printed independently before being attached once the river is expertly painted with a rich hue. The layer thickness in the print mirrors the terrain mapping found on topographical maps. This endeavor was also an experiment in painting techniques. I utilized a dry brush method with Vallejo acrylic Model Color paints, masterfully blending colors to bring depth and dimension to each scene. Instructions I prepared these prints for fabrication in Simplify3d and had them manufactured on a MakerBot Replicator 2 utilizing the following specifications: Density fill = 10% Layer height = 0.2 mm Number of shells = 4 Feedrate = 40 mm/s Travel feedrate = 55 mm/s Temperature = 220 degrees Celsius I employed MakerBot white PLA filament for this production run.
