Mini Wirelessly Powered Tesla Desk Lamp
thingiverse
This is a compact, scaled-down model of the Wireless Powered Tesla Desk Lamp that really delivers results! A teeny one! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dUi3cMTy0ds&feature=youtu.be I designed this wireless lamp to make it easier for anyone to print it using their smaller 3D printers. It uses a motorcycle tail light (Sylvania 90, 12V, ~6W) that puts out some serious power. I picked this bulb because of its tiny size and voltage requirement. I just happened to have some lying around. It probably would work better with a lower-voltage bulb but I didn't have one handy. The Resonant Frequency is 6.5 MHz, which gives the lamp its amazing abilities. A Spiral Inductor with ~0.1uH does an excellent job at delivering the power efficiently. Overall Dimensions: 2.3" x 2.3" x 3" This Wireless Powered Tesla Desk Lamp was designed by the very talented David Choi! Instructions To make this incredible lamp, start by twisting together some copper tubing (about 1/8") that you can buy online or at most auto parts stores. It doesn't matter what size they are - they just need to be small enough for your 3D printer. Then, use two super-high-frequency capacitors in parallel to create a resonance frequency of ~6.5 MHz. For me, I used two capacitors with a capacity of 3.3 nanofarads. The coils receive power wirelessly from the underside of the table where a transmitter is cleverly hidden away. Since it's quite small in size, this lamp works its best with an active repeater that sends and receives the signals to create an almost limitless range! This fantastic bulb called Sylvania 90 that shines bright like the brightest light ever produced, can be connected directly to the coil that gets all those wireless energy. I used 22 gauge enameled wire for that because it has perfect properties for conduction electricity through.
