Mini V-Tail Copter (based on EMaglios TriCopter)
thingiverse
It started with EMaglios Tricopter, sure to become a classic! I had so much fun building and flying this tri-copter, so I decided to try 'MoRayCHs' v-tail modification. My Up! mini can only print 120x120x120mm objects, so I used the splited parts from 'omegatron' in both cases. Having a little chat with maker DaWoJnA brought me a better solution to attach the arms. I don't need FPV features, so I decided to close the corresponding holes. Knowing that it's getting really warm inside the copter, I made some (as I think) more efficient air intakes. The arms have openings to hold M3 nuts, attaching them is now much easier and safer than before. I splited the arms in two sections, arm and motor mount. These can now be printed in their ideal position for stability. The same happened with the tail. Here I closed the cable inlet for the not needed servo and widened the upper inlet for the additional motor power cables. I glued the parts first and then welded the seams with an soldering iron afterwards. All parts are compatible to the original ones, so you can select the best combination for your needs. For example, it is possible to use the original body from EMaglio with the new arms. Finally I can tell you that this little thing is a TERRIFYING BEAST! It's so fast and agile, I think it will take some time to master this copter. Even finding the right PID settings will be a challenge (I hope naze32s autotune will help). I have flight times with an 1300mAh LiPo of round about 9 minutes. I'd like to thank again the above mentioned members/makers for their work and I would be very happy to see YOUR make! Made a little clip today, while testing and optimizing PIDs -> https://youtu.be/vjhLBizUo8I 07.25 Update: Joined the lower and middle body sections on request. They are available for download. My personal list of parts: * 4x Emax 2204 2300kv Motors * 4x Emax 12A ESCs with 5Volts BEC and BLHeli * 1x Naze32 Full Flight Controller * 4x 5x3 Props (6x3 will also fit) * 2x M3 screws and nuts for each arm * 2x M3 screws for the LiPo-Cover * 3S LiPo with 1300mAh (look for the dimensions, Lipos from Zippy fit well) I think that's it, hope this will help... BTW: If you like my contributions and designs, feel free to send me a TIP...
