Mini Trombone

thingiverse

There are a few other piccolo trombones available on Thingiverse, but I decided to create my own unique version. The slide is slightly longer than a standard piccolo trombone, giving it a deeper sound. With a tight lip embouchure, you should be able to produce a bright, brassy sound and use the slide to adjust pitch. Four STL files are attached: the inner slide, the outer slide (which fits over the inner slide), the connector from the inner slide to the bell, and the bell itself. I chose not to design my own mouthpiece and instead printed the trumpet mouthpiece found at https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:772936/files. This mouthpiece is also available at https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:291388/files and has a more pleasing aesthetic, although I prefer the first one. It should fit easily into the inner slide, or you can use an actual trumpet mouthpiece. If you want to make any changes, I've attached the Fusion 360 project as well. To print this instrument, I recommend using supports on all parts except the bell. On the slides, it's a good idea to add a brim if your bed adhesion isn't strong. After printing, I only used the Ender 3 clippers to remove some artifacts, but you shouldn't need to do much sanding. You can listen to an audio sample of what this instrument sounds like at https://soundcloud.com/user-602826613/minitrombone-sample/s-QEoKAzZUPVg.
