Mini TriCopter-Remix
thingiverse
This is a remake of Boxx's fantastic Mini Tricopter. I began by modifying his design to suit a Naze32 style board. Along the way, I made several changes to hopefully enhance the frame's stability. To add an extra feature, I incorporated provision for a buzzer. The V4 frame leaves no gap between the bottom and the landing skids. This makes it easier to strap on a battery when the battery rests against the rear skid. It features built-in pads that are removed after printing to help hold the support material in place on the print bed. The V4 frame has been printed, but I haven't installed electronics or flown it yet. Everything else has been printed and successfully tested. A few parts may require some fine-tuning, but they all work as expected. All pieces were printed with support material except for the top and tail skid. They were printed in the orientation shown. I'm sure this version will likely be heavier than Boxx's original design. However, it flies exceptionally well with the 1806-2300 Dragonfly motors that I am using. I fly it with 3s 1500mah or 1800mah batteries. I've added a few pictures for reference. The assembled yellow frame is the V2 with Boxx's original legs. The black frame with yellow legs is the V4, which also features remixed legs. The VTX-GPS-Compass top is a project that I'm currently putting on hold. When I can get back to it, I plan to use this design as my starting point. I want to fly it with INAV like my larger Tri but am unsure how it will work out with everything so close together.
