Mini Talon Wing Extension 150mm
thingiverse
The wing extensions for the Mini Talon are finally here! Extend the wings a total of 300mm, bringing the overall wing span to an impressive 1600mm. Remember, you want these as light as possible - mine weighs in at just 80 grams each. The "lockers" STL file should be printed twice and glued securely into place with superglue. (Check out the pictures for visual guidance.) If you're using the original 4mm back spar, you'll need to print the BackCarbAdapter.stl file first and then glue it into the hole for the back spar. To complete this project, you'll also require longer carbon rods. Specifically: * Carbon rod 1: Outer diameter 10mm - inner diameter 8mm * Carbon rod 2: Outer diameter 4mm - Inner diameter not necessary Here's how I printed my wing extensions: I used Simplify3D and the "multiple processes" feature. If you're unsure about this process, check out this helpful video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OcddlK36OVs&t=266s My print settings are as follows: * Print (1): * Infill: 10% * Top Solid layer: 2 * Bottom Solid layer: 2 * Outline perimeter shells: 1 * Stop printing at height: 2mm * Print (2): * Infill: 3% * Top Solid layer: 2 * Bottom Solid layer: 2 * Outline perimeter shells: 1 * Start printing at height: 2mm * Stop printing at height: 148mm * Print (3): * Infill: 10% * Top Solid layer: 2 * Bottom Solid layer: 2 * Outline perimeter shells: 1 * Start printing at height: 148mm I set my layer height to 0.2mm and print speed to 50mm/s. The total print time was approximately 8.5 hours per extension.
