This project is not meant to be completed right away; it's primarily for motivation. Feel free to download each component for your own small table saw construction. This table saw was built using custom-made 3D printed parts, as expected. Additional materials include scrap wood, pieces of aluminum rod measuring 15x15mm (used for the fence), an old Pfaff sewing machine motor that runs at 80W and 6,000 RPM, a speed controller for AC motors, GT2 pulleys, and a GT2 belt loop, M8 threaded rods and aluminum rods for adjusting the blade height, a 10mm rod used as the blade axle accompanied by two bearings (which were actually intended to be skateboard bearings, but misidentified), an 80mm cutting blade with a 10mm hole, and various miscellaneous components. Achieving maximum cutting height was tricky because the top plate measures 18mm in thickness while the blade is only 8cm wide. Efforts included "thinning out" bearing blocks and routing sections from the top lid where the axle/bearing blocks intersected. A maximum cutting height of 15mm was attained, a notable accomplishment. The fence operates smoothly, allowing it to lock in place when pushed downward but loosening with each upward pull. For optimal alignment between the blade and fence, one mounting hole on the sliding bar was drilled slightly larger, resulting in minimal lateral movement that should suffice for achieving exact alignment. An additional option involves placing a thin piece of paper within the fence block located behind the fence itself. Reversing the direction of the M8 axle responsible for adjusting the blade height required it to be moved to the bottom enclosure due to spatial constraints, thus making crank rotation necessary unless positioning the saw on a table edge. It's possible to cut wood adequately using an 80W motor; however, cutting thick stock frequently results in the motor needing to slow down significantly. A more powerful motor would provide optimal performance if feasible.
