
Mini Sumo with Remote Control

I modified the SketchUp Mini Sumo. The motor holder is much stronger now. On my prints, the original one always broke due to bad layer bonding issues. The chassis has holes for a 5x7cm proto pcb with M2 stand-up screws and stand-offs. There are also holes for a 2AA battery holder to use two 14500 LiPo batteries. An option is available to mount a 500mAh-800mAh 2S-LiPo battery with JST connector. The blade can now be fixed with only two M3 screws and nuts. A hole has been added for a small switch. I converted an old Nintendo controller into the transmitter. I will post the Arduino code and schematics within the next few weeks. Please bear with me. **Update:** I am still working on the schematics. I have added source code for both the bot and remote. The code is ugly but it works. **Partlist:** Both (Remote control and robot): 1. Arduino pro mini 3.3V 8MHz 2. nRF24L01 Module 2.4GHz RF transceiver Robot: 1. DRV8835 Dual Motor Driver Carrier from Pololu 2. Micro Metal Gearmotor from Pololu or similar. A 6V 1:50 gear ratio with medium power (about 700mA stall current) is quite fast and a lot of fun. 3. Lipo options: 2x 14500 LiPo batteries with a 2xAA holder, or about 600mAh 2S LiPo. Remote: 1. An old Nintendo NES or SNES controller will work fine. 2. I used an nRF24L01 transceiver with uFL connector and a small 2.4GHz antenna. A transceiver with a pcb antenna also works well and has enough range for indoor use. 3. Very small LiPo batteries from small quadcopters or similar 4. Some very thin wires, i.e. AWG26 or 28
