Mini SMA (shape memory alloy) Actuator
thingiverse
This is a Shape Memory Alloy actuator, featuring an SMA spring and a conventional spring, which operates on the principle that SMA materials change their shape based on temperature. In this setup, two springs move a small arm. As a result, you can have a temperature-sensitive actuator requiring no electricity and no external control. In addition to 3D printed parts, you will need: 2 screws, Type GB/T 13806.1-1992, M1.4 x 1.8 mm 1 SMA spring, choose working temperatures according to your needs, as long as the inner diameter of the spring fits around the coil support 1 normal spring with about half the force of the SMA spring It is recommended to add oil or a lubricant between the linkage and the coil support Print Settings: Printer: Prusa i3 Mk2 Rafts: Yes Supports: Yes Resolution: From 0.05 to 0.1 Infill: 100% Notes: Tolerances are pretty tight, so it must be printed with a high-resolution setting. I designed this using Autodesk Inventor.
