Having something fancy for a single item, for that this shelf is the right thing. One could use it as a key holder, hold your wifi acccess point, or in my case, to hold the elixir of life, a pack of cofffee. The current design should be stable enough to hold up to 1kg permanently (checks with 1.5kg were less reassuring).
