Mini Screw Jack
myminifactory
This is a custom mini screw jack model designed to level a fixed leg tripod for a telescope, specifically the Orion HDX 110 EQ-G. The design caught my attention, so I decided to share it with others. It consists of four main parts: the base, bolt, collar, and stop. To give it a more secure grip, I added knurling to the bolt, collar, and base, which were not present on the original model. Two small holes on the side allow for tightening or loosening the bolt using a cheater bar. The stop is an optional feature that can be attached to the end of the bolt to prevent it from separating from the base. To assemble the mini screw jack, I used two 3mm button head screws. Both a long and short version of the bolt are included, with the only difference being a 4mm length variation. When using the stop and screws, the bolt may protrude slightly from the bottom of the base, but this is not a significant issue. To prevent the bolt from being too long, you can attach adhesive-backed rubber or cork to the bottom of the base. Alternatively, you can use the shorter bolts. Additionally, I included both concave and flat top versions of the bolt head for added flexibility.
