Mini Sanding Wedge

Mini Sanding Wedge

This is a remix to the original, giving it a smaller size boost for sanding. I decided to make smaller sized wedges as I build a lot of smaller parts and the larger wedge makes it harder to use. Here are the changes: - No Supports needed after modification - Much smaller than the original, check out the picture. - M3 Nut pocket - Say goodbye to plastic threads wearing out. - The plug "white in picture" has numbers engraved for sand paper grit. - Blank Plug included so you can import file into Tinkercad and add your own grit numbers. - Plugs also have a T on back showing which part is the top, unless you use engraved numbers, then it's a no-brainer. - Pre-numbered plugs include: 80, 180, 400, 1500, 2500. - Small enough to make several wedges so you don't have to switch out different grits on just one. You'll need a M3 socket style bolt that is 25mm You'll need a M3 nut Rubberized/Foam padding Sand Paper with your choice of grits. I bought two variety packs from Walmart in the automobile section which contains 80, 180, 400, 1500 and then 2nd package has 1000, 1500, 2000, 2500. These have worked well with 3D models I've printed. NOTE: Inside the base (wedge) you'll find a hole to insert M3 nut. You'll need small needle nose pliers to press nut into place. I added some super glue to the inside of the nut hole using a toothpick and then inserted nut so it will stay in place. The knob, I also screwed the bolt into the knob but left enough out to add super glue around the inside area where the socket head of the bolt/screw will rest. Then using a hex wrench I continued to screw the bolt into the knob so bolt won't free up after ongoing use. Credit goes to the developer of the original sanding wedge, it's an awesome design. All I did was resize and modified it to ensure it fit and a few other modifications that I mentioned above by adding the nut and changing a few things. I printed mine with no supports on a CR-10s. Hope you're able to put these into use and enjoy. Please share your makes and comments. Best Regards, Mike
