Mini Racing Joystick

I built a racing game joystick with a knob as a steering wheel and a sequential gearbox, but I didn't want it to be too big, so I broke out my old "Microsoft SideWinder Precision Racing Wheel" from '99 and tore it apart. The pedals for the brake and throttle were completely removed because they were too complicated to use with potentiometers. I took the springs from an old DVD and floppy drives and used them in my project. The electronic switches from the steering wheel's PCB were soldered directly to cables and connected to the main PCB, giving me four extra buttons plus two replacements for the brake and throttle, and two more for the gearbox. I wanted to share this little project because it could give you some ideas on how to build something similar, but my design is specific to the Microsoft joystick I had. I used 123D Design and uploaded the final file with the entire design. After playing around with it for a while, I realized it needs some improvements and the buttons feel too sensitive, like they're just touching. Print Settings: Printer Brand: RepRap Printer: Prusa i3 Rafts: No Supports: Yes Resolution: 0.3 / 0.4 Infill: 15% Notes: For the top part of the joystick, it's better to print it as is and add a lot of support to get a nice surface. Check the support for the little turrets holding the springs (for the steering wheel) because they weren't auto-generated in CraftWare for me.
