I took a hard crash on my XciteRC Rocket 65XS QC but was left with usable parts that didn't warrant trashing. I decided to salvage them and bought some bigger motors used by Hubsan, giving me a new foundation for a customized build. My end result is simple yet visually appealing. The motors now securely fasten into holes originally reserved for rubber band attachments while the rest of the electronics get held together by flexible rubber straps. Electrical wiring traverses through sturdy frame arms. This copter pictured dates back to an early print attempt, executed in ABS which led to warping issues but performed well regardless. To anyone else taking this on, I recommend using PLA for optimal results. My new design is lighter, streamlining materials and introducing easier rubber band attachments with pins - no more fumbling! Plus, a lit circuit board has transformed the model into a beautiful display when printed in white material.
