I'm taking my bike out for a spin when I notice that the part of the downtube where the water bottle holder and pump bracket bolt to is quite wide and flat. No curvature whatsoever! The bracket that came with my mini pump assumes some kind of curve, and it didn't account for the offset needed to clear the frame. I'm riding a 2017 Trek Domane, but any bike with a flat-back downtube profile would likely face similar issues. So I decided to create a modified pump bracket that supports my minipump. The new bracket has a 9mm internal diameter, which fits my pump perfectly.
