Mini Prusa Dampers with Holes for Base-Mounting
thingiverse
I was designing an enclosure for my Prusa i3 mk2 and came across hofftari's mounts. I wanted them to fit perfectly into my base so I modified his design by drilling holes in it. I used 4 #6 x 5/8" pan head screws to secure the pieces together. First, mark the spot where you want them. Next, carefully insert the screw through a hole in the bottom piece and then slip the inside piece into the outside frame. Drive the screw through a hole in the felt pads to hold it in place. Use a screwdriver to tighten the screw. I recommend drilling a small pilot hole before driving the screw so it goes in smoothly and straight down. *I printed with nylon filament, but I'm not sure if ABS/PLA will work well with the holes. If you try it out, leave a comment about your results.* **After using this setup for a couple of months, I noticed that the left side dampers have bent so much that they're touching the top screw. It could be due to heat from the enclosure or a design flaw. You might still be able to make it work by adding a compression spring and using the screw to hold the bottom down.*
