MINI OMNIWHEEL TRAK (Poor Man's DJI RoboMaster V2)
thingiverse
So I ditched the mecanum wheel design because it wasn't easy to recreate with simple hardware. Omniwheel design is much easier to create and functions better. I remixed these wheels (https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:705) to use them directly on 9g servos, gluing them on. I edited the rollers to use pieces of foam for slightly better grip. I attached the rollers to the hub with qTips - you can use any other 3mm rods. I used PLA on everything. If you want to print the rollers in TPU, you can also use the original rollers (ROLLER NORMAL). Instead of screwing the servos in, I hotglued them. I temporarily added my Looming terror (https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3420083) on top with a regular pan tilt bracket. This build was frustrating - my mini RX crapped out a couple of times and I fixed everything by regluing it. After that, my voltage booster borked, so it doesn't look as clean as it did before.
