Being a supporter of the New Matter MOD-t back in June 2014, I have always been fascinated by the concept of 3D printing. It constantly amazes me that you can conceptualize something, design it, and print out a physical object right before your eyes. I thought it would be awesome to see if you could use your 3D printer to 3D print a 3D printer itself. Well, I've done just that! Although it's not a fully functional 3D printer, it is a miniature replica (scaled down from actual size) of the New Matter MOD-t. Purchase this design for only $1 and you can create your very own 3D printed 3D printer! Best settings to print on the New Matter MOD-t: * Layer height: 50 or 100 microns (I opted for 100 microns) * Infill percentage: 25% * Carriage lift setting: Off * Support material requirement: On * Temperature: 210 degrees Celsius * Raft option: Not required, but you can use one if desired After printing is complete, you may notice the holes on the back of the printer and the top of the carriage. These are an integral part of the design. Simply insert a length of filament (1.75mm) into the holes and secure it with super glue to complete the look of the MOD-t as shown in the images.
