All measurements taken from an original 1980's mini mardave were replicated as closely as possible, with the exception of weak components and the need for added reinforcement. November 19, 2018: All uploaded parts are subject to revision if tolerance issues arise or printed components prove too weak. Additional reinforcements may be incorporated in areas requiring them. November 21, 2018: A chassis plate was added, complete with counter-sunk fixings. November 23, 2018: A battery retainer for 4-cell NIMH batteries and basic exploded images were included. The chassis plate was adjusted, and a template for both pan head and counter-sunk fixings was provided (users can choose between the two). November 27, 2018: Chassis thickness was increased to 2.5mm. The battery retainer fixing point was adjusted. Two different wheel dimensions were added (one suited for the original axle and one designed for a 6mm axle). Rear axle/bearing hole dimensions were modified to accommodate MF126ZZ bearings. Servo saver parts were revised, and a top washer was included to secure parts together. Servo/steering arm joins were incorporated for use with 3mm fixings. December 15, 2018: A prototype build was completed and put into operation. January 20, 2019: Work-in-progress materials were removed. Users are asked to report any observed errors. October 29, 2019: The servo saver component was consolidated into a single solid part as an option. Notes: MF126ZZ metal shielded deep groove flanged ball bearings (6x12x4mm) should be used for rear bearings. If these bearings are unavailable, users can substitute with rear axle bush and generous amounts of grease. A 6mm diameter rear axle is recommended; while the printed version functions adequately, ideal materials include carbon fiber or steel rod. Steering link arms require 3mm threaded rod approximately 40mm in length. Servo saver springs should be torsion type, with an inside diameter of 12.5mm and a thickness of 1.2mm; they should also have two turns and measure roughly 26mm in length. A visual reference is provided for fine-tuning the installation process.
