Mini Magnetic Knife, Katana, Blade Sharpener Holder at 15 & 20 Degrees Angle
thingiverse
So I wanted to buy a sharpening puck for my KATANA but with such a big blade I did not know how to keep a consistent angle. There are 2 sides of the magnetic Holder - 15 Degrees (Japanese knives) and 20 Degrees (modern Western knives). This is just the holder and not the sharpener! But it is incredibly useful in making sure you get that even angle across your blade. I made it rather small to be easily transportable perfect for small and medium knives but is a little small for my katana but still does a great job at holding it. Just need to prop it up on a raised surface for larger blades. Enjoy!P.S. (I designed this with inspiration from the "HORL 2 rotating Knife Sharpener" - which retails for around $150.)Instructions:The Design has EIGHT, 6.2mm(diameter) by 2.3mm(depth) holes on either side of the angled face it's slightly larger than the magnets for clearance and to allow space for glue. You can use as many magnets as u need for your use case - (I use this for my katana so I use all 8 holes for magnets but for small knives, you may only need 4 or 6).I use Niodinium 6mm by 2mm magnets ( SEE PICS).I recommend using an infill of 50% and above and the dimensions are around 20mm(H) - 60mm(L) - 45mm (W). So quite small but perfect for the majority of applications. There are also TWO, 3mm(depth) by 5mm(width) underside cut-outs for silicon or another material feet to stop it from sliding around when in use. Will update with pictures in future.
