I greatly appreciate the simplicity and functionality of this loose filament spool, but I felt that both the original design and its remixed arms were a bit too short for my needs. As the filament unwinds during printing, it often flops into adjacent forks on the arm. Additionally, since I've found that winding filament vertically works well even with loose filament, I reduced the horizontal spacing to accommodate 5 filaments. I also reduced the height of this model from 7mm, which was previously too thick for the spool, to a more suitable 6.5mm. This snug fit is a great improvement. Printing four arms is highly recommended as it provides ample space without allowing filament to flop into adjacent forks. Three or even two arms may work, but they will increase the likelihood of this issue and put excessive tension on the arm and filament. Keep in mind that these extended arms may touch the aluminum profile. This can be easily resolved with a spacer; I use a section of toilet paper tube cut to about an inch. If you want to go the extra mile, feel free to print one, but it's not necessary.
