I was really fond of the initial design, but there were a couple of things that didn't quite sit right with me - the cabling and the placement of the PSU. I thought it would be a great idea to integrate the PSU into the lamp itself. A small toggle switch serves as an on-off switch, and the PSU is a 40mmx40mm 6W LED power supply module. For the cabling, I used wires that are specifically designed for model trains. The LED strip is a 60LED/m neutral white. UPDATE: The PSU I ended up using is this one: http://www.ebay.de/itm/LED-TRAFO-12V-DC-6W-max-Transformator-Treiber-Netzteil-0-5A-MR16-MR11-G4-GU5-3-/111773407165 The stem and base were printed using a faux-wood PLA at 0.2mm, 30% infill, while the shade was printed with PETG at 0.15mm, 100% infill. I created a mockup of this design in Tinkercad, but I'm not entirely happy with the base since Tinkercad only allows for a limited number of steps when creating a torus compared to a cylinder (24 instead of 64). This results in an uneven finish on the rim of the base that I don't particularly care for. To get more light out of it, I modified Bernbout's two LED stripe-shade design to fit my cabling needs. However, I haven't printed this version yet.
