Mini Lathe Carriage Stop / Dial Gauge Mount
thingiverse
This is a tailor made clamp which is designed to perform two functions: firstly to act as a stop to restrict the movement of the lathe carriage and secondly to securely hold a dial gauge or metal stop rod (8mm diameter). The clamp is secured with a 1/4 inch bolt which mates with a nut recessed into the lower part of the model. This enables the entire clamp to be located anywhere along the way, and then firmly secured. The 8mm bore enables a secure fit by means of a grub screw (see photos). The clamping section of the design is proportionally wider than most other designs; it has been designed with a larger clamping area to increase contact with the way and thus increased friction - whilst accommodating a space for a dial indicator. There is also a 36 degree chamfer to allow a neat seating against the “Amadeal” carriage housing. This is designed for my "Amadeal" 7x14 mini lathe which has a way with cross sectional dimensions of 14x13.5mm with a 45 degree chamfer. Before printing you will need 1/4 x 1.5 inch nut and bolt, 16mm flat washer, M4 x 6mm threaded insert and 8mm M4 grub screw (or conventional M4 screw if preferred)
