Mini-ITX Media Center PC (8L) HDD Cover
thingiverse
This is a remix for the case cover which enables mounting an HDD 3.5" disk instead of a fan. It also has slightly increased tolerances. It comes in three versions depending on how big your CPU cooler is and how much space you have. Tallest version will ensure that there is almost always enough space as it encloses the HDD inside. I haven't tested taller versions as in my case default is enough (H110M-ITX + i7-7000 with stock cooler). Due to the heat from HDD against the cover I recommend using PETG/ABS to avoid any long term warping. In any case you will need some longer screws for mounting. **Important!** This is best to print without top/bottom layers and with ~30-35% lines infill so it gives more airflow through tiny "mesh" holes. See cura example picture. Also be careful as middle part might splinter if stuck too well to the bed. Best to use bed glue only around the frame. I also recommend using 4+ walls (on 0.4mm nozzle) so the mounts are fully filled and stick well to the cover. Sorry for not sharing actual printed pictures as the case is already mounted in a remote location.
