Mini HingePliers (a metamaterials experiment)
thingiverse
This is a condensed version of Thing 1787860... which I forgot to post until now. It's not just a scaled-down model of Thing 1787860, but features a more robust structure while maintaining an optimal balance between surfaces that shouldn't make contact. Producing this tiny yet surprisingly strong pair of pliers requires only a quick print job. Yes, the dime sitting next to it is indeed a standard US coin. The design is a genuine metamaterial: every part of the object is literally one single piece, including the hinge and spring, all printed without any spans (and consequently without supports).
