a compact gimbal with mobius cam attachment for the mini H-Quad is being developed. key components of this project include the upper deck and arms of the quadcopter, extended to accommodate 6030 props. Emax 1806-2280kV motors and ESC 12A flashed with BLHeli 14 will be utilized in this build. flight control is a critical component, with a 2560 MultiWii board chosen for this application. additional materials needed for the lander include two pieces of carbon fiber pipe, measuring 5mm in diameter and 200mm long each. the gimbal itself is a custom design, combining elements from several sources, including a model available at http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:216558. arm mounts to the motors are taken from another open-source project at http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:224981. mobius cam mounting hardware is also a product of an open-source collaboration found here : http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:332566. controlling the gimbal will be handled by an alexmos Board : https://www.basecamelectronics.com/simplebgc/, while the motors used are 2206 size from HK : http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/uh_viewItem.asp?idProduct=43037. further work is needed, however. delivery of several critical components is still pending, leaving a lingering uncertainty about this project's ultimate viability. print settings include no rafting and a high-resolution output (0.2mm layer). as with all such builds, every effort was made to keep excess material at bay to reduce the overall weight. some minor compromises were made along the way in terms of additional components required by both the lander and arms of the project, however these do contribute slightly more to its final mass. assembly entailed using threaded screws through holes pre-drilled into the arms, then securing them firmly in place with polyamid hardware. a pair of internal screws serves double duty here, locking not just the lander onto the bottom plate but also helping secure those long extensions in their own set position while another external one is applied for this very same function between said extension itself & upper component
