Mini Drak split main hatch

Mini Drak split main hatch

I found the original one-piece main hatch on my model to be impractical for frequent opening and closing to access the battery. With this mid-brace installation, you essentially cut the main hatch in half. The rear portion is secured by the brace along with the standard thumb screws. The front section is attached at the forward edge using glue or tape and then held down by a strong magnet located at the rear where it meets the brace. I sourced a 10mm x 10mm x 2mm magnet from hobbyking for this purpose. To ensure the magnet securely holds down the hatch, you will need to push a scrap piece of threaded rod into the slot in the coroplast.
