A versatile clip for a customizable Mini-DIN top hat rail system. The overall width of the clip measures 8mm. Pre-located divots on the clip enable seamless mating with a complementary part. These female divots allow for a straightforward slot design on the mating component as well. The counter-bore hole is precision-crafted to accommodate either a #4 (2.9mm) self-tapping screw or an M3 pan head screw. Alternatively, cyanoacrylate glue provides an incredibly strong bond, rendering screws unnecessary in many cases. In fact, when glued with CA adhesive and subjected to tension, the clip's plastic body is likely to fail before separation occurs. Convenient side holes serve as a pinning system for inserting filament, while also aligning perfectly with Weidmuller AKZ15 Mini-DIN terminal blocks. A comprehensive CadQuery source code is provided, enabling users to modify and customize the clip design as needed. Due to variations in printer performance and materials used, it may be necessary to adjust the grip location to achieve a satisfying snap action. This has been achieved through extensive trial and error, but will ultimately depend on individual printer specifications and material properties.
