Mini Differential IR Sensor Mount for Geeetech Aluminium Prusa i3
thingiverse
This is a custom mount for David Crocker / EscherTech's mini Differential IR Height sensor, found at https://miscsolutions.wordpress.com/mini-height-sensor-board and http://www.escher3d.com/. It's a modified version of https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2700601 (IR_Sensor_Mount_Rear_v1.stl), designed to fit the extruder carriage of a Geeetech Aluminium Prusa i3. A slit has been added for M3 screws, allowing for separation by 25-31mm. The mount's length has also been shortened to position the sensor closer to the rear of the carriage plate. The mini Differential IR Height sensor board should be secured with M2 nuts and bolts, sliding into the vertical extrusions at the back of the mounting system. This design accommodates adjustments for different nozzles attached to the extruder. To achieve accurate height measurements, start by lowering the nozzle to touch the build plate. Next, loosely attach the sensor board and raise it 10mm. Place a blank PCB underneath the sensor board and lower it again onto the PCB, raising the sensor board away from the lowest point the nozzle can reach. This process provides a specific measurement for calibrating the mini Differential IR Height sensor board.
