Mini Crossbow

Make a mini crossbow using parts made on a Shapeoko CNC router. No reason you can't 3D print its components. Watch the making process on YouTube here https://youtu.be/wztowGZpJbc. The design was created with Fusion 360 CAD/CAM software. This project was done for fun, to see if a bamboo crossbow could be made and how it would work on the Shapeoko. The body had to be milled at 45 degrees to fit on the table due to its size limitations. The body was cut using Fusion 360's adaptive routine with a flat end mill. This process removes large amounts of stock first, then does fine contour cuts every 0.2mm for rounded corners. Additional sanding completed the project. Writing was added to one side of the crossbow on the stock, milled using Fusion 360's parallel routine. However, not enough stock remained from the adaptive process, which can be seen at the top of the writing area. The bow was made of bamboo and didn't hold firm under stress. It was also difficult to cut with an end mill, resulting in a stringy texture that required extensive sanding after cutting to achieve the desired form.
