Mini Connector

I designed these connectors to utilize JST SM contacts, a more practical choice than the commonly available XH connectors that feature a male part specifically designed for PC board mounting. Occasionally, I need just a couple of connectors without having to buy an entire box. One can purchase the SM contacts inexpensively and keep them on hand when the need arises from online marketplaces like eBay or Aliexpress. Furthermore, one has the option to color-code the connectors according to their specific application requirements. These parts are relatively small in size and should be printed at a slow speed to ensure optimal results. I personally used ABS printing at 40mm/s, and some minor touch-ups may be required after printing using a needle file. To complete the connector assembly, I hand crimp the contacts with needle-nose pliers and apply a very slight amount of solder for added security.
