mini buck converter box i made for my ender 3 pro. i have direct drive on mine and i have a noctura hot end fan and hero me gen 5 part cooling fan with the dual 5015 blowers so i needed to install some buck converters. i wanted something small, easy and easy to get to. that being the case i had the bracket where my old extruder motor use to be in and my wires for the fan go right by it so i made this buck box to fit right where the stock extruder goes it has the same bolt pattern and the nema17 stepper motor. obviously this wont work for you if you are not direct drive however. i used these buck converters. you can get them cheaper elsewhere but amazon links will likely be longer lasting than a ebay link or so on. https://www.amazon.com/WGCD-DC-DC-Converter-Adjustable-Module/dp/B07KFVWYNW/ref=asc_df_B07KFVWYNW/?tag=bingshoppinga-20&linkCode=df0&hvadid=&hvpos=&hvnetw=o&hvrand=&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=e&hvdev=c&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=&hvtargid=pla-4583657824705086&psc=1 when you wire the buck converter you only use 3 wires unlike you use with the other types. you need you 24V supply, the ground and your output positive wire. DO NOT put anything on the "en" port like i did or you will be frustrated as to why they are not working like they should. just branch off your ground for the fan. i wired in a 90degree pin header to mine but you can solder wire right to the pads if you want, i added channels for zip ties in the end but i have not tried those as i have connectors for a simple r&r if a convertor pops. my box holds two of the buck converters. the lid will hold the buck converters in place so no need for glue or anything. i did short screws from underneath to hold the box down and short screws to hold the lid on so that the box will stay in place while i adjust the voltage or if i need to change out the buck converters for whatever reason.
