Mini Blinds Bottom String Plug

Mini Blinds Bottom String Plug

This dilemma began when my wife requested I fix the damaged blinds, as our one-year-old frequently destroys them. Upon dismantling, I discovered that the plug for the mini blinds was missing. Inspired to create a replacement, I leveraged my limited OpenSCAD knowledge and moderate CAD skills. Initially, I attempted linear extrusion but struggled with difference operations; perhaps there's an alternative method. Ultimately, I relied on OpenSCAD wiki examples and commenced from scratch. The original plan was to print in nylon, but PLA in blue was readily available, so I proceeded. Through a series of iterations, the current design appeared functional enough for installation. Printed using a Prusa i3 with a .5mm nozzle and Kisslicer software for slicing. For optimal performance, nylon would be ideal, but a thinner wall on the tab with a .35mm nozzle could enhance functionality in the replacement plug.
