Mini Ant farm
thingiverse
This is an integrated system consisting of two distinct components designed to work in tandem as a single entity. I assembled them simultaneously because they function synergistically. The first component is the Mini Ant Farm unit, which is compact and tailored specifically for the needs of a queen ant and her initial brood. Its size will depend on the species of ant being housed. The Mini Ant Farm features an irrigation system that relies on flower sponges to maintain optimal moisture levels. This chamber requires a secure acrylic seal with strategically placed holes to facilitate hydration through the sponge. Additionally, it includes an exterior compartment where food can be provided for the ants, which necessitates a removable transparent acrylic seal. In contrast, the water reservoir, also known as the Water Chamber, serves a singular purpose: ensuring that excess water is consistently available for the ants. To achieve this, a small tube is required to supply water to the system. When combined, these two components can be seamlessly integrated with any of my future ant-themed designs.
